Panagbenga Festival is a yearly celebration in Baguio City that highlights the beauty of the homegrown flowers such as carnations, daisies, tulips, everlasting, and many more. It’s a feast where people from all walks of life, tourists, and locals, join in witnessing a grandeur of street dancing themed participants all the way from Cordillera and best flower floats competition as they paraded along the famed Session Road. It was indeed a colorful Panagbenga 2013 and the beauty of Baguio is rediscovered once more. Panagbenga gave a lot of opportunity for people to explore Baguio and wander in the province of Benguet.
Give it a big thanks to LakbayBaguio.com for inviting us to join Baguio Benguet Bloggers Appreciation Tour 2013; Azalea Residences – for our official home for the festival; and SUN Cellular, for sponsoring. We were part of the Manila Bloggers along with the Cebu Bloggers who joined this tour, organized by Vincent Tabor of LakbayBaguio.com.
Azrael Coladilla of Azrael’s Merryland, Raffy Pedrajita of Ph Travel Blog, Anton Carranza of Pusangkalye, and yours truly, represented the Manila Bloggers, while the bloggers from Cebu were Geezelle Tapangan of GeeMiz, Jaysee John Pingkian of Jaysee Blabs, Mark Monta, founder of CebuBloggers.com, Marco Paulo Diala of PhilippineStreetFashion.com, and Ethelbert Ouano, a lawyer who’s got a knack for blogging at LaagCebu.
Going to Baguio
Our Baguio tour started when we tried reserving our tickets from Victory Liner Pasay Terminal. We did not get to booked our ride instead we opted to hop in as chance passengers due to the bulk of commuters going to Baguio. We came to Baguio around 5 in the morning after a 6 hour bus ride. Alighting from the terminal in Baguio, we can see already the flock of people eagerly waiting for the start of the festival.
We got booked in one of the premier hotel up North with accommodation that four of us from Manila enjoyed so much. And we bet that even the bloggers from Cebu enjoyed their stay also.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Azalea in one of their 2 bedroom Suite room. The good thing about it, we didn’t spend any single centavo on our hotel stay because it was all part of the Baguio Benguet Bloggers Appreciation Tour 2013. All we have to pay to the organizer is roughly Php 2,500, which includes hotel stay and accommodation, food, and tour around, not just in Baguio but as well in most of the exciting places all over Benguet province. If we are not mistaken, this is the first for LakbayBaguio.com to sponsor a tour like this and we thus encourage everyone that should in case you heard another tour organized by LakbayBaguio.com, you should reserve your slots right away. We definitely had an awesome vacation/tour under the great supervision from Vincent.
Another sponsor of this tour is SUN Cellular whose Sun Cellular Name Ur Number SIM promo has reached the far province of Benguet and enjoyed by many subscribers as of this date. Sun Cellular Name Ur Number SIM is such a hit and they are a good choice for the tour sponsorship.
SM City Baguio
They never fail to amaze us and in fact, even before we wrap-up our BBBA Tour 2013, Omeng V. Fallarme, also a blogger and representing SM City Baguio, handed us our Panagbenga 2013 Hanes T-shirt, courtesy of the mall. That t-shirt we wore on our last day of BBBA Tour 2013.
This is just part of the snippets of our BBBA Tour 2013 and there will be another article coming-up right after this. There are so many places that we went to, food finds that we discovered, and great people that we’ve met during our 3 days and 2 nights in Baguio City.
Just to give you glimpse of our Baguio whereabouts, here are all the places that we visited:
Oh My Gulay Restaurant
Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto
Inglay Restaurant in La Trinidad
Mines View park
Don Henrico’s in SM City Baguio
Camp John Hay
Mt. Sto. Tomas
and our Breakfast Buffet was taken care by Tradisyon Coffee Shop of Azalea Residences.
Hang on tight because there are a lot more after this, for we have more stories in and behind our BBBA Tour 2013. Happy reads!
