Have you ever dined at Murray’s New Orleans Bourbon Street Ribs, Steaks and Oysters? Such a long name, huh?

Anyways, this restaurant owned by partners Raymund Magdaluyo, a successful restaurateur and Celebrity Chef Peter Ayson, along with original consultant Murray Hertz, re-branded the classic New Orleans, a brainchild of Murray, to what now is known as Murray’s New Orleans Bourbon Street Ribs, Steaks and Oysters in October 2007.

Fast forward to 2013, Murray’s New Orleans is the place in town where you’ll find the famous drink Megarita and Mardigrettes swaying to the tune of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).

On our recent journey to this place, we were served of their latest creation, inspired by the classic margarita drink, the Megarita – the giant version of this cocktail taking us on new heights.

We have tasted margarita on several occasions and this one from Murray’s New Orleans is extra-ordinary. Just by its size, you’ll know what you’re getting into. There’s even a specialized New Orleans chalice that comes in electrifying colors of 9 different flavorsPink Grapefruit, Pomegranate, Breeze, Midori, Cadillac, Raspberry, Blueberry, Pink Lady, and Electric Blue. Our choice would be the Raspberry and Electric Blue flavor. They say both taste like bubble gum, but for us, it’s the most flavorful mix that we dig.

For Php 299 you’ll have a glass of Megarita and if you pay for Php 550, you’ll get two.

And for the steamy part, excuse us for the use of the word, the sultry Mardigrettes liven up Murray’s New Orleans mood with their electrifying and gyrating dance number, dressed up as cowgirls on one set, alternating dressed as sexy cops, and Motown showgirls on the other.

Hold your breathes for the Mardigrettes are not your ordinary sexy dancers. They are in fact employees of Murray’s New Orleans handpicked for a 6-month scholarship program and trained at FTX gym by no less than Ed Aniel of Pole Academy Philippines. So, that’s why these girls dance so very sexy. These girls composed of Murray’s New Orleans staff are Mara, the receptionist; Jona, the bar maid; Gella, the cashier; and Jersey, the server.

Okay. We’ve seen their moves a couple of times already and we were smitten of the beauty of Jona who looks like young actress Cristine Reyes in some angles.

Here's Jona, the bar maid.

Mardigrettes perform three times a week only. Awww. Anyways, you can catch them at Murray’s New Orleans Newport Resorts World Manila’s Teaser Tuesdays; Robinsons Magnolia’s MardiDocs Thursdays; and SM Mall of Asia’s Jive Fridays.

Check out Megarita in all Murray’s New Orleans branches in Bonifacio High street, Robinsons Magnolia, SM Mall of Asia, Newport Resorts World Manila, Harbor Point Mall in Subic, and SM Lanang in Davao.
